About Phil George

Phil attended West Point (United States Military Academy) and ultimately finished his education at the University of Idaho where he received a degree in Economics and Accounting. After college, Phil went into the Peace Corps in Armenia where he helped create the first Farmer’s Co-op in Armenia and founded a non-profit in partnership with Cornell University and the University of Idaho to educate women entrepreneurs in business topics.

After the Peace Corps, Phil went to work for McMaster-Carr Supply Company, a private billion-dollar logistics business with over 5,000 employees. Within several years, Phil became one of the youngest leaders at the company running 5 departments for the company’s west coast operations in Los Angeles while still in his 20’s. During his time there, Phil volunteered to be the executive sponsor for the company’s mentoring program. As a result of that experience, Phil got a front row seat at how challenging these programs are to manage at large companies, and how leaders at other great companies were managing similar programs without the right technology to support and scale the programs for employees. After sponsoring the mentoring program for 2 more years, Phil quit his job and founded MentorcliQ the next month.
