Celebrating Innovation: 2024 Startup Impact
We are excited to present to you the 2024 Rev1 Ventures Impact Report.
It’s been a year of growth and evolution for Ohio entrepreneurs where the entrepreneurial engine in Central Ohio continues to thrive amidst a changing economic environment.
At Rev1 Ventures, we remain committed to supporting entrepreneurs building high-tech, high-growth companies. Though these businesses represent make up a smaller portion of the overall economy, their impact is significant, attracting venture capital and investment that strengthens the region. We measure their influence through capital raised, revenue generated, and value created at exit—clear indicators of their outsized economic impact.
Our entrepreneurs achieved a remarkable $1.3 billion of impact (capital, revenue, exits) in 2024. Topping a billion dollars captures the momentum that the entrepreneurs in our region have built despite fluctuating capital markets and the highs and lows of M&A activity since the pandemic. This year’s achievements mark a turning point, reinforcing Central Ohio’s position as an influential hub in the Midwest’s expanding entrepreneurial landscape.
Maintaining this momentum requires continued success to reinvest in the next generation of startups. In 2024, we launched a transformational five-year strategy, enhanced our best- in-class venture services, and announced new cutting-edge innovation spaces that will shape the future of this work.
In partnership with the City of Columbus and The Ohio State University, we introduced two ground-breaking initiatives: a new headquarters for Rev1 Ventures including space for software scale-ups downtown Columbus, and modern labs in Carmenton to support spin-outs.
Looking ahead, there is even more to celebrate as Rev1 marks its 10-year anniversary. What started as a vision has grown into a thriving startup ecosystem, positioning Columbus and the surrounding region as one of the most active startup regions in the country.
